Rick Ross stopped by “The Breakfast Club” for a revealing interview this morning. He discussed his forthcoming album Black Market as well his continued house arrest and his weight loss, noting that he’d lost 80 pounds. He also lobbed a few shots at his rival 50 Cent.
“It really isn’t personal at all with me. I just feel homie a shallow, weak dude, and you gotta be shallow at this point,” said Rozay. “I’ll probably be in my emotions as well if my first album was titled Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and I filed bankruptcy. I guess his kidneys failed.”
Things got really interesting when he was asked for his take on the Drake vs. Meek Mill beef. “My position,” he observed, “I think this is what’s good for the culture. Coming up in the game, you will have skirmishes going for the No. 1 spot.”
He called Meek his “little brother” and Drake his “lil homie,” and compared them to “two lil homies in high school who fought over a pair of J’s.”
He explained that he’d just gotten off the phone with Meek, who he says is “making some of the most powerful music he ever made. That’s what I’m excited for, the next level.”
The hosts pressed him to acknowledge that Meek buckled under the pressure—Ross stood firm. “Ain’t nobody get bodied,” he said. “If you think that was bodied, you buggin’. That’s light work. We got more money we finna go get.”
He promises Meek’s upcoming music will silence his doubters. “If you think Meek Mill through, you trippin’.”
When asked about his infamous Drake >> Meek Mill tweet, he laughed it off. “That was a fake tweet,” he said. “I don’t even tweet like that. Dudes like me don’t use the greater than, less than [symbol].”
Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga say they got screwed by Birdman just like Lil Wayne did … as least that’s what Lil Wayne claims in new legal docs. Lil Wayne now claims in his bitter lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money, he has letters from Drake and Tyga’s people claiming they got stiffed out of a fortune. And Nicki’s people say in a separate letter her producers also got shortchanged by Young Money, and Wayne says it’s Cash Money’s responsibility to pay producers. As you know, Lil Wayne runs Young Money, whose stable of artists include Drake, Nicki and Tyga. Cash Money is the parent company of Young Money, and Birdman is the big boss. The allegations of Cash Money’s financial shenanigans are massive. Young Money clams it was supposed to get a big chunk of a $100 million advance from Universal — an advance that went directly to Cash Money — and they’re still waiting. But Cash Money says Wayne and company are full of it. They gave him a $20 million advance for Young Money in 2012, another $12 million for Wayne’s solo album and another $70 million in advances, royalties, marketing and recording costs for various Young Money artists. Cash Money claims in the docs if anyone is a slacker it’s Wayne … he was supposed to deliver 21 albums over 7 years for his artists and only anted up 13.
Last week, Drake released his long awaited mixtape, “What a Time To Be Alive,” in collaboration with rapper Future, but fans weren’t expecting the Toronto-native to name-drop folks that quickly revived old beefs that were reportedly squashed. As previously reported, on one of the mixtape’s track, Drizzy added fuel to his beef with long-time nemesis Chris Brown by rapping about Brown’s ex- Karrueche Tran on, “Live From the Gutter.”
“This is for my n****s on the bulls*** and that nonsense, this is for my dawgs that go Karrueche with the chopsticks,” rapped Drake on the track.
If you can remember, the two haven’t gotten along since Drake briefly dated Brown’s ex- Rihanna, and the beef isn’t likely to end anytime soon. Though he didn’t say who he is was talking about, it was obvious when Breezy responded to Drizzy’s lyrics via Instagram:
“People who have had to sit and watch me for years do me and watch their females actually love me always show their insecurities… I’m content being Chris Brown. A lot of people are unhappy and a lot of these artists lie to the fans or rely on hype to gain substance.”
Drizzy has since not responded, and it looks like he’s now putting all of his energy into his new found beef with Meek Mill which have put a strain on his relationship with “Young Money” rapstress Nicki Minaj. The rapper took shots again at Meek on his “30 for 30 freestyle,” and on another track he clearly targets Mill and Nicki on “Diamonds Dancing,” where he raps:
In the meantime, Meek admits via Instagram that he too have an upcoming song and gave fans a preview. He raps: “Money, power, respect, eating breakfast on a jet.” We’re not sure if Meek should continue to go up against Drake because it might not help his career only to break it. Let us know what you think….
Meek Mill is still feeling the burn from the Drake feud that blew up in his face -- and he stopped a concert to rip into a fan who dared to support Drizzy. Meek was performing in Brooklyn when he spotted the person holding up a Drake sign ... and he absolutely lost it -- "The f**k you talking about you f**king clown!" Check it out ...'cause this proves the beef is still plenty hot for Meek. Drake, on the other hand ... has definitely moved on.
